GW AMA Marketing Week 2024: What to Expect

Written by: Isabela Ribeiro

Every year our chapter looks forward to hosting our annual Marketing Week for students, faculty, and staff. The event is our biggest programming initiative of the year, consisting of one event per day for the entire week. Each year, we operate under a specific theme - this year's being “Entertainment”. The theme guides our programming efforts and the types of events that we host. The opportunities below are just a few of the amazing things that you will be granted access to throughout the week-long event!

Keynote Speakers:

One of the central highlights of Marketing Week is the lineup of esteemed keynote speakers. Speakers range from entry to executive level, providing attendees with the opportunity to observe marketing from differing perspectives. This year, we are lucky to have speakers from Fortune 500 companies as well as local DC firms. Each speaker will provide insight into their career journeys thus far as well as share any useful advice that can be applied to your career and/or personal life.

Networking:

Networking is a crucial aspect of any industry event, and Marketing Week is no exception. After every event, attendees are encouraged to speak with their peers and guest speakers. Face-to-face interaction is essential to making genuine connections that as a result create potential long-lasting relationships

Workshops:

Get the chance to learn new skill sets and strategies by attending a student-led workshop. Design is a multi-dimensional skill that plays an integral role in the field of marketing. Whether you want to be an Art Director or Graphic Designer, knowing how to use creative asset platforms such as Canva and Adobe will be of great benefit to you in the workplace.

Panel Discussion and Q&A:

Engage in lively discussion, gain diverse perspectives, and have your burning questions answered during panel discussions and Q&A sessions. These interactive sessions provide a platform for knowledge sharing and learning from marketing industry experts.

Working on this event as a chapter this year has truly become a labor of love. Get ready to immerse yourself in a week full of learning, networking, and innovation at Marketing Week. We hope to see you there!
